Terras de Cigarrón, Godello, Monterrei, Spain     €30.00

Unearth a new discovery; the Godello grape. Galician wines are on the crest of a wave at the moment and Godello is the next big thing to come from the Northwest of Spain. If you like a crisp Chablis with mineral and elegant flavours then give this wine a go. No-one has heard of the Godello grape, but that’s one of the reason why we love it. This grape mimics that flinty and pure Chablis style, but it’s just a change from the norm.  No barrel and very fresh! Lemon colour, bright. The nose is full of citrus notes and a bit of whitestone fruit. Tastes expensive. A fantastic find from Spain.

Finca Las Moras, Chardonnay Reserve, San Juan, Argentina     €33.00

Medium dry, full bodied and on the fruity side of the Chardonnay taste scale. The short barrel ageing of this wine gives it a creamy texture and a rich palate, whilst maintaining a fresh fruitiness. Unlike the oaked chardonnay of the 90’s, which was sickly and a bit too ‘oaky’, this has a smoothness and refreshing finish. Works well with fish & pork dishes.

Viña Muriel Blanco Reserva, 2010, Viura, Rioja, Alavesa, Spain     €45.00

A splendid wine made from Rioja’s finest white grapes (100% Viura) & fermented in new French oak barrels from the Elciego area in the heart of the premium Rioja Alavesa region; designed to showcase the very best of Rioja.  A highly complex wine which converges nuances of citrus & white flowers with fine spices & toast from the oak aging.  Fresh on the palate with a soft long finish & good acidity.  A different, special & memorable wine experience.
